DESCRIPTION: Militant young Japanese American renunciants at Tule lake during the summer of 1944. Bitter over their internment, and led to believe that renunciation was one of the ways they could stay with their alien parents, 5,000 young men renounced their citizenship and were either deported or sent to alien enemy camps like Fort Lincoln. Their shaved heads and white headbands symbolized their militancy.
