Bugs, Insects and Other
Crawly Things

Sheila Dalgliesh is a Grand Forks artist whose art has been shown locally and regionally. She is very inspired by children and their ideas. She teaches as an artist in the schools through Artwise. In her camp children may, or may not, find their inspiration from bugs and insects as they create masks, sculptures and paintings. Other activities will include building miniature “stage” sets and homes for the bugs that they make. This camp is sure to be be crawling with fun.
July 5-9 (ages 6-13)
Mindy Rinkenberger
Photography Fun

Mindy Rinkenberger is a photography student from Minnesota recently graduated from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. Working together Mindy and the kids may make a giant room-sized pinhole camera and take pictures with it! Some of their time will be spent building sets and using costumes. Then they will employ cameras and techniques that they have learned to make their own visual stories. No experience or equipment is needed for this week of photographic fun.
July 12 - 16 (ages 13-18)
Kim Fink
The Power of Prints

Kim Fink is Professor of Printmaking at the University of North Dakota Art Department. He received his Bachelor’s degree in painting and his Master of Fine Arts in printing at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and Rome, Italy. Fink has work featured in exhibitions regionally, nationally and internationally. With his experience working with youth of all ages, in this camp, students will learn several printing skills using hand techniques and presses to make multiple copies of their work. This camp is limited to students ages 13-18 and has an option for campers who travel a distance to stay in residence halls on campus.
July 19 - 23 (ages 6-13)
Adam Kemp
Creature Features

Adam Kemp is a talented artist whose work is found in homes, businesses and in outdoor community spaces throughout the region. He has shown at the North Dakota Museum of Art, the Plains Museum, and at various galleries and is always involved in community art events across the state. One of the community’s biggest supporters of the arts, Adam was awarded Grand Fork’s First Annual Artist of the Year award. He brings a mix of fun and education into all of his projects with young people, and is a favorite artist with kids and parents. Adam will help kids create sculptures and paintings using a favorite kids’ theme: creatures.
July 26 – 30 (ages 6-13)
Guillermo Guardia “Memo”
Clay and Other 3-D Delights

Guillermo (Memo) Guardia is a sculptor and ceramicist from Peru. He has earned a Master of Fine Arts degree and his second Masters in Industrial Technology at UND. Through the Museum’s rural program Memo travels around the state to schools and communities where he conducts residencies and classes. His work has been featured in the Museum’s exhibit Artists in War IIas well as in the You Are Here Gallery and the Third Street Gallery on Kittson in Grand Forks. This week’s plan is to encourage imaginations to run wild while using clay and paper maché.
