Autumn Art Auction

The Museum inaugurated the Auction in order to develop a buyer's market for artists living in North Dakota and the surrounding region. Importantly, although a benefit for the Museum, the artists benefit first. They set their minimum prices, which must reached before the Museum receives anything. Since the beginning in 1999, a diverse audience of people who want to live with original art has come into being. Established collectors as well as young buyers just beginning to collect have expanded the market. A gala party, the Autumn Art Auction is an annual live auction celebrating artists from the region and those from elsewhere with ties to the Museum. Wine and hors d'oeuvres are served at 6:30 pm. Auction begins at 8 pm. All works to be auctioned are displayed for several days prior to the event.

Benefit Dinner
and Silent Art Auction

The North Dakota Museum of Art Benefit Dinner and Silent Art Auction is both the prominent social event and successful fundraiser for the Museum, held in the elegant galleries of the Museum. A silent art auction celebrating artists from the region highlights the evening. All works to be auctioned are displayed for several days prior to the event.
