House and Landscape Drawing

Camp 1: 10:00 - 11:00 am, ages 7 - 9
Camp 2: 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, ages 10 - 12
Camp 3: 1:30 - 2:30 pm, ages 13 - 15
Camp 4: 3:00 - 4:00 pm, ages 15 - 18

 

Is architecture your thing? Love drawing the outdoors? Then landscape design is for you. This class is all about designing an outdoor visual space. You get to explore how to draw a house and all that goes with it! You will have fun in small personal group sessions with an instructor and up to 8 classmates. 
 

All material provided, no experience necessary. 
 

Covid-19 precautions: Classes are limited to 8 students. Drop off and pick up in front of the Museum. Masks will be available and required. Gloves are available. Each person will have their own table to work at. Material will not be shared. Everyone will be spaced at least six feet apart. Please use restroom at home before class. Restrooms are available if necessary.

Tait Simonson is from Faith, South Dakota, today he does most of his creative art work from Grand Forks, North Dakota. He attended undergraduate school at the University of South Dakota receiving his Bachelor of Fine Art Degree with an emphasis in Sculpture. He then went on to attend graduate school at the Pacific Northwest College of Fine Art to receive his Master's of Fine Arts degree. Since then he has been teaching Art at Central Valley Public School K-12, while receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Valley City State University. He specializes in sculpture and, focuses on light based architecturally responsive work, he also enjoys working with metal, clay, and wood.

Paper Relief Sculptures is a class that is about 2D work in 3D with 2D material. Catch all that? You will get to create awesome, fun visual work that really "stands" out! Have fun in small personal group sessions with your instructor and up to 7 classmates.

Paper Mask Making

Make your own paper mask with colors and designs that let the world see you. Learn how to create, design and make your own unique mask using simple folding techniques. Once you have the basics down the sky is the limit! You will have a great time in small personal group sessions with your instructor and up to 7 classmates.

Dragon Line "Hatching"

"Hatch" a new drawing skill, and learn the drawing technique of cross-hatching with a super fun and easy drawing tutorial of a dragon! You will have fun in small personal group sessions with an instructor and up to 7 classmates.

Do you love folding, how about paper, in this class you won't be able to get enough! You will have the opportunity to learn a variety of origami techniques, anywhere from: a dog, bunny, hummingbird, monkey, crane, spider or a paper fidget device!  You will have fun in small personal group sessions with an instructor and up to 7 classmates.
